International Yoga Day Celebration 2024

In the midst of office hours, daily commutes, and the chaotic hustle and bustle of a city that never sleeps, it’s easy to accumulate stress. Aligning your body and mind through a good yoga session can provide a much-needed reprieve. This International Yoga Day, the AKAL family took a collective step towards tranquillity and well-being by coming together to practice yoga.

The International Day of Yoga is celebrated across the world annually on June 21, following its adoption by the United Nations in 2014. Recognising the significant benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being, the UN deemed it essential to promote this wellness practice globally, which originated in ancient India.

The session, led by the inspiring Seema Ma’am, offered everyone an invaluable opportunity to pause, reflect, and connect with their bodies. Seema Ma’am guided the group through various asanas and breathing exercises, encouraging mindfulness and inner peace. Her expertise and calming presence transformed the session into a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

For many AKAL employees, this break from the usual click-clacking of keyboards was not just refreshing but also rejuvenating. The practice of yoga allowed them to step away from their daily routines and stressors, fostering a sense of unity and well-being.

The session was more than just an exercise; it was a holistic experience that reminded everyone of the importance of mental and physical health. As everyone rolled up their mats and returned to their desks, they carried a renewed sense of calm and balance, ready to take on the challenges of the day with a clearer mind and a lighter spirit.
