AKAL’s Fight Against Omicron

AKAL’s Fight Against Omicron

Even as the year is coming to an end, our hopes of stepping into the new year with minimal mentions of the coronavirus are, once again, put to a halt due to the outbreak of yet another COVID-19 variant, the Omicron Variant (B.1.1.529).

First detected on November 11, 2021, in Botswana, the Omicron Variant has now reached 38 countries. Due to the possibility of it’s higher transmissibility and as it is less likely to respond to vaccines or treatments, the WHO has classified Omicron as a “Variant of Concern.”

Now that this vicious variant has found its home in India as well. We, at AKAL, have increased our defenses, and we are dead set on winning the battle against it.

The majority of the time, 2020 witnessed empty spaces at AKAL office as social distancing was vital for our health and safety from the virus. When the activities resumed, we ensured that we were taking all measures to ensure the safety of our employees and to this day, we are still following the rules and precautions laid out by our management religiously. From temporarily halting the use of the biometric system to wearing face masks in the office even while sitting a few feet away from one another, we do our part individually and together for everyone’s safety.

As an office where the health and safety of the employees come first, AKAL premises are regularly sanitized to ensure all hygiene. As almost everyone in the Akal’s office is now fully vaccinated, those who haven’t are advised and encouraged to get their vaccination doses. Managers and team leaders keep themselves up to date with each team member’s health and if anyone even has mild symptoms of cold or fever, they can either work from home or take full sick leaves so that they work only when fully recovered.

Here are the 5 most common symptoms of Omicron that you should be aware of:

  • Fever
  • Tiredness
  • Cough
  • Loss of taste
  • Loss of smell

Now that Delhi is among the highest to record Omicron with 54 cases (as of 21.12.2021), we hope that you, too, take drastic measures to protect yourself and your loved ones from this ruthless virus. Remember to wear a mask whenever you step out of your house and take your hand sanitizer along with you.

AKAL family, too, will continue to do our part to follow the safety precautions set up by the government. This is a battle that we are all fighting together so, let’s join our hands (not literally) and win this.

Spread the love
